Giving the Exercises: A Two-Year Training Program in Spiritual Direction
Has completing the Spiritual Exercises left a lasting mark on your heart?
If you experienced the transforming power of the Holy Spirit through the Exercises and grew in your personal mission as a result, God may be inviting you into the next step — accompanying others on that same journey.
Giving the Exercises is a two-year formation program offered jointly by St. Simon Catholic Parish and St. Monica Catholic Community for those discerning a call to become certified spiritual directors in the Ignatian tradition. Classes meet one Saturday each month, offered both in-person and via Zoom.
This program is designed for men and women who listen deeply, protect the confidences of others, and are growing in awareness of their own wounds and how Christ is healing them. Ideal candidates are at least 30 years old, currently receiving spiritual direction, and maintaining an active prayer life.
Our faculty brings together decades of experience giving the Exercises, with backgrounds spanning theology, pastoral ministry, medicine, law, and executive coaching — united by a shared passion for forming compassionate, confident guides for others.
Join us for an Information Night Learn more about the program, meet the faculty, and discern if this is the right next step for you.
