St. Simon Parish sponsors the Layette Appeal every year during Respect Life Month in October, but donations are welcome at any time of the year. The program requests only NEW clothes in NEWBORN SIZES (sizes 0 to 6 months) Checks may be made payable to the Diocese of San Jose Layette Fund and can be dropped off at the Parish Office.

The annual Layette Appeal collects donations of baby clothes and cash to support the Layette Program of the Diocese of San Jose. The Layette Program partners with over 30 parishes and Catholic organizations along with the Santa Clara Public Health Nurses to distribute nearly 500 layettes every year to families in need.

All donations not used for layettes, such as formula, larger-size items or used clothing, are given to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The Layette Appeal makes a great outreach project for parish or school groups.
