Our Parish Life Group (PLG) is open to everyone at St. Simon! We host many social events during the year to build community. Following is a list of events in date order with a short description. Some events have been on hold since the pandemic and we hope to bring them back or host new events with the time and talent of our parishioners. Every two years, we hold an Auction and Dinner off-site to raise funds for the Parish.

Our events, run by volunteers are family-friendly, fun and there are many to choose from during the year. Please consider joining us at an event and sign up to volunteer for a shift or two, it’s a wonderful way to meet others at St. Simon. If you would like to get involved, please email communications@stsimon.org.

We look forward to meeting you!

Festival of Lights Parade

St. Simon proudly participates in the downtown Los Altos holiday parade with our own St. Simon Angel float.  The St. Simon School 8th Grade Cheerleading squad marches alongside our Angels who brightly shine standing by the baby Jesus’ cradle.   Our St. Simon Community begins Advent Season by joining the larger community in crowding the downtown streets enjoying the floats while eagerly awaiting the arrival of our float.  The event is scheduled for the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

Ladies Christmas Dinner

Ladies Night Out!  The ladies of St. Simon Parish gather from all areas of the parish to enjoy a festive evening of dining, drinks and a Christmas Ornament Exchange.   The holiday spirit is strong as we celebrate the Christmas Season.

St. Patrick’s Day Dinner

The Parish Center transforms into a sea of green and all ages gather for an authentic corned beef and cabbage dinner and an Irish bar.  Musicians and Irish Dancers entertain from the stage as we are all a little Irish on St. Paddy’s Day.  This event always sells out so buy your tickets early!

Easter Vigil Reception

We celebrate our newest members of the parish on this most sacred and magical night.  The reception follows the Easter Vigil Mass.  The RCIA Candidates are welcomed into our faith and our church as we congratulate them with a champagne and appetizer reception.

Young At Heart – Senior Luncheons

The “Young At Heart” group meets the 1st Tuesday of each month from September through May.  A delicious lunch is prepared by our dedicated volunteers.  Parishioners 55yrs and over gather in community to enjoy fellowship in the Simon Room.  Donations greatly accepted.

Parish Auction and Dinner Dance

Our largest St. Simon event and fundraiser happens every two years before Lent.  The Auction supports the various ministries of St. Simon and our greater community.   We put on our party dress and come together in an extravagant and exciting evening of competitive bidding over trips, parties, items and services during a silent and live auction followed by dinner and dancing.  It is always a good time and a wonderful way to raise funds for our Parish facilities, services and outreach projects.
