Our Parish Life Group (PLG) is open to everyone at St. Simon! We host many social events during the year to build community. Following is a list of events in date order with a short description. Some events have been on hold since the pandemic and we hope to bring them back or host new events with the time and talent of our parishioners. Every two years, we hold an Auction and Dinner off-site to raise funds for the Parish.

Our events, run by volunteers are family-friendly, fun and there are many to choose from during the year. Please consider joining us at an event and sign up to volunteer for a shift or two, it’s a wonderful way to meet others at St. Simon. If you would like to get involved, please email communications@stsimon.org.

We look forward to meeting you!

This activity has been on hold due to the pandemic. We will know more later this year when we receive advice from the community care facilities.

Bring Christmas joy and smiles through caroling at our local community care facilities during the holiday season.  Join in spirited singing to our community neighbors. The joy and appreciation from the residents at the facilities is priceless.  Join us- the more the merrier!

Pancake Breakfast

This event is not being held at this time.

In January or February, our community gathers for breakfast after Sunday morning mass for a pancake breakfast hosted by the Youth Ministry to raise funds for their program.

Fat Tuesday Ice Cream Social

A Mardis Gras evening for the children as we celebrate with ice cream sundaes and a Magician before our Community enters into the Lenten Season.

Crab Feed

To be determined if this event is being held this year.

In the past, this event has been a fun, social event held on the years when we do not hold our Auction & Dinner Dance.  The table decoration contest has our parishioners gathering and planning as they choose a theme and create delightful and surprising scenes to enjoy.  Our Youth Ministry also sells raffle tickets for fun baskets to fundraise for their activities.  Bowls of crab and delicious side dishes are served.

Parish Auction and Dinner Dance

February 2025

Our largest St. Simon event and fundraiser happens every two years before Lent.  The Auction supports the various ministries of St. Simon and our greater community.   We put on our party dress and come together in an extravagant and exciting evening of competitive bidding over trips, parties, items and services during a silent and live auction followed by dinner and dancing.  It is always a good time and a wonderful way to raise funds for our Parish facilities, services and outreach projects.
