The Sacrament of First Reconciliation is celebrated with children who are baptized and who have attained the age of reason in accord with the directives of the Second Vatican Council and the norms prescribed by the Bishops of the United States. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be celebrated prior to First Holy Communion. The Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are typically celebrated in the second grade. All parents wishing their children to celebrate these Sacraments are expected to participate in the sacramental preparation of their children and to attend the parent meetings for this purpose.

An Act of Contrition

Oh My God, I am sorry for my sins.
In choosing to sin, and failing to do good,
I have sinned against you and your church.
I firmly intend, with the help of your Son,
To make up for my sins
And to love as I should.  Amen
