The Rite of Christian Initiation adapted for Children (RCIC) is a process for children over the age of 7 who have not yet been Baptized. It is modeled on the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). In keeping with the current Church practice these children will celebrate Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist at the same time.
Together with others of the same age children (7-10) meet in a weekly CFF session at 10:10 a.m. on Sunday Mornings or 3:30pm on Sunday afternoons or teens (11-18) meet in a bi-weekly MS-YM session at 3:30pm on Sunday afternoons or a HS-YM session. The initiation process works towards a deeper understanding of our faith and lays the foundation for continual faith formation. Children study the Sunday readings and prepare to celebrate the sacraments. Parents are encouraged to attend the Sunday sessions with their child(ren). The RCIC for Children/Teens is generally a full calendar year process.
