Volunteers Needed at Food Distribution Site
Due to COVID-19, Catholic Charities and Second Harvest of Silicon Valley are distributing food to over 2,000 vulnerable families per week at 6 Parish Drive-Thru Sites in the diocese. The closest site to St. Simon’s is at St. Athanasius in Mountain View, where food distribution occurs on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 8:30am to noon. Volunteers are needed to help with traffic control, loading food, and registration.
Helping others! Does ANYTHING feel as satisfying or more Christ-like as when you are giving to others, serving others? 2,000! These are our neighbors. These people struggling are our people. Grab your family or a friend and show up. You won’t regret it. It will be the best thing you did all summer.
To register as a volunteer, go to https://www.catholiccharitiesscc.org, and click Sign Up under Food Distribution Sites. You’ll be taken to a website where you can apply to be a volunteer for food distribution. You’ll be asked to create an account at MyImpactPage.com, and then using your account, you’ll be able to sign up to help out at St. Athanasius or any of the other Parish Drive-Thru sites in the diocese.
