*Dr. Paul Schutz: A native of Evansville, IN, Paul J. Schutz is a Catholic systemic theologian who serves as Associate Professor in the Religious Studies Department at Santa Clara University. His teaching and research focus on the Christian theology of creation, with an emphasis on how contemporary science can inform religious perspectives on humanity and our relationship with other-than-human creatures. Paul entered the world of theology after a career as a professional liturgist and liturgical musician. His current book project explores the potential of “flourishing” to serve as a core category for Christian theology and a basis for cultivating a robust praxis of ecological and social justice.
