ART & ENVIRONMENT: Liturgical Environment Ministry
Just as creation changes through the seasons, the environment in the Church changes with the liturgical seasons. The purpose of the Art and Environment Ministry is to plan and implement an environment in and around our worship space, centered on the liturgical seasons of The Church, to enhance the beautiful liturgies celebrated at St. Simon. We do this by augmenting the essential symbols of the liturgy with reverence, elegance and simplicity.
The Art & Environment Ministry, along with the pastor, plans and prepares the Church’s environment in accordance with the liturgical seasons and special parish events. The work honors our sacred space and enhances our liturgical experiences through seasonal planning and decorating of the church, creating visual effects and maintaining the physical interior of the church. Participation may include a one time project or an ongoing interest reflecting your personal talents. All that is required is a willingness to serve and put your talents to good use.
