St. Vincent de Paul – Second Collection: Jan. 30

In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus reads the words of scripture:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor.” 

In the month of January, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was able to assist 25 families, providing funds for food, for utilities and rent. We also housed one homeless person for 8 nights over Christmas who Father Brendan had found going to Mass one Saturday evening in December. 

 

Our conference is very grateful that our work to help those most in need of immediate assistance continues because of St. Simon Parish dedicating the 5th Sunday’s Second Collections to SVdP.

Please remember that our first 5^th Sunday Collection for SVdP in 2022 is next weekend, January 29, and 30^th.  You can donate online or at Mass in our special baskets.  We thank you for your continued generosity.  If more convenient, you can also put your donation in an envelope with SVdP on the front.
